Qinghai Lake is a vast high-altitude salt lake, not one fenced attraction. The eastern Erlangjian area provides the clearest first-visit infrastructure, while the broader shore and grasslands require careful route, weather and ecological planning. Start from Xining, allow two days, stay on legal roads and viewing areas, and never trade wildlife or wetland protection for a closer photograph.
