Tongli is Zhouzhuang's quieter sibling: the same canals and arched bridges with fewer queues, one genuinely great garden — the UNESCO-listed Tuisi Garden — and the famous Chuanxin Lane, a stone alley so narrow two people pass sideways. It is also the rare water town you can reach by metro: Suzhou line 4 ends here.
