Zhangjiajie is not one compact attraction. Plan the Wulingyuan sandstone peaks, Tianmen Mountain and the Grand Canyon as separate areas with different tickets and transfers.
The sandstone pillars
Stay in Wulingyuan town for Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Golden Whip Stream and Ten-Mile Gallery.
A separate city-side day
Plan a full day for the cableway, cliff walks and Tianmen Cave. It is not inside Wulingyuan.
Glass Bridge and gorge
A different day trip. Foreign passport holders may need a separate booking procedure; call the official service desk.
Optional nearby sights
Separate ticketed visits near Wulingyuan. Add one for a gentler day or wet-weather alternative.
Reserve first: Wulingyuan gate, date and entry time; Tianmen route category; then the Glass Bridge time slot if you plan to visit.
