Huangguoshu is China's largest waterfall — 78 meters of the Baishui River pouring into a karst gorge, the only great fall you can watch from six directions, including from inside the Water-Curtain Cave behind the curtain itself. It anchors a small cluster of sights in the hills west of Guiyang: a stone-forest river park, a wide low "roaring" fall, and Ming-era garrison villages with an opera form found nowhere else.
