Mount Siguniang — "Four Sisters Mountain" — is Sichuan's alpine answer to the Alps: four snow peaks rising over 5,000 meters from the Qionglai range on the edge of the Tibetan plateau, with three glacier-carved valleys at their feet and a small mountaineering town below them. It is China's friendliest serious mountain: novice climbers summit its lower peaks with guides every season, while hikers spend days in flower meadows under the highest face.
